Softball Recap: Castro Valley Trojans vs. Alameda Hornets
Castro Valley proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Alameda Hornets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since March 25th.
Alanys Robertson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Castro Valley's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alicya Robertson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
