Basketball Recap: Van Buren Takes a Loss

Van Buren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 56-39 bruising from the Francis Lewis Patriots. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vee Bees this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-37 two weeks ago.

Van Buren's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Francis Lewis, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.

After both having extra time off, Van Buren and Eagle Academy III will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Francis Lewis, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Archbishop Molloy at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th.
