Prince of Peace falls despite strong effort from Aria Jefferson

This season hasn't been kind to the Prince of Peace Eagles, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They fell to Brook Hill 40-34. While losing is never fun, Prince of Peace can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1281st, while Brook Hill is ranked 459th).

When it comes to explaining why Prince of Peace lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Aria Jefferson. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Jefferson's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Brook Hill can attribute much of their success to Lila Morris, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Brenna Hill was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.

Prince of Peace's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Brook Hill, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Prince of Peace will be playing in front of their home fans against Vanguard College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vanguard College Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Brook Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against All Saints Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
