Baseball Game Preview: Stevenson Pirates vs. Rancho San Juan Trailblazers

For the second straight game, Stevenson will face off against Rancho San Juan. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Stevenson's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Rancho San Juan has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Stevenson came out on top against Rancho San Juan on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Pirates blew past the Trailblazers 12-4. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Stevenson got a great performance from Flint Dickson as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave Dickson a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Reggie Bell was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Tono Borgomini was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Rancho San Juan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Stevenson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
