Basketball Recap: Owen Kolesa Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Valmeyer

Father McGivney Catholic won the last time they faced Valmeyer and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins took down the Valmeyer Pirates 66-49. With that victory, the Griffins brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Father McGivney Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Kolesa, who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points and eight boards. Those 21 points gave Kolesa a new career-high. Chase Jansen also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win got Father McGivney Catholic back to even at 12-12. As for Valmeyer, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
