Baseball Recap: Reading Memorial Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Reading Memorial waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Winchester Red & Black 9-3. Considering the Rockets have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Liam Hansen and Sam Clark did most of the damage at the plate: Hansen went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Clark went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Those three RBI gave Hansen a new career-high. Kamden Greatorex was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Reading Memorial pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Winchester, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reading Memorial will challenge Lynn Classical at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Winchester, they will head out to square off against Belmont at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
