Softball Game Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs vs. Windham Bombers

The Grand Valley Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Windham Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Wednesday, Grand Valley came up short against St. John and fell 5-2.

Breanna Rowland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Jenna Poyer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-0 to Maplewood, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Windham's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Grand Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-4.
