Softball Recap: Calhoun City Has No Trouble Against Water Valley

Calhoun City got themselves on the board against Water Valley on Monday, but Water Valley never followed suit. They blew past the Blue Devils 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five games by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Olivia Vance, who gave up just two hits to keep Water Valley off the board. The dominant performance also gave Vance a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, Justiyah Pittman was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Amaryona Pass was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Calhoun City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Water Valley only posted a batting average of .200.

The win made it two in a row for Calhoun City and bumps their season record up to 7-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Water Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.

Coincidentally, Calhoun City and Water Valley will both be playing Bruce the next time they take the field. Water Valley will host Bruce at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Calhoun City will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
