Baseball Recap: Parkrose Comes Up Short

Parkrose had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it seven. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2016.

Parkrose saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaiden Blair, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Jeremiah McCauley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Centennial, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly four runs.

On Centennial's side, Grant Solowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Logan Landolt was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Isaac Galofteanu was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

While Parkrose had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
