            Softball Preview: Franklin County Flyers vs. Conner Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            The Franklin County Flyers will face off against the Conner Cougars at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Franklin County is coming into the  match hot, having won their last five games.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Franklin County and Western Hills meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  on Tuesday. The Flyers had just enough and edged out the Wolverines  6-5.
 The team  relied heavily on  Carlie Olds, who  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Conner made easy work of Lloyd Memorial  on Thursday and carried off  a  12-2 win. The  victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Juggernauts: they've now won four in a row.
 Bayli Bell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 On the hitting side,  Addison Santiago was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Averie Lightner, who  went 3-for-5 with two  RBI and one  run.
 Franklin County's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Conner, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
 Franklin County took their  win against Conner  when the teams last played  back in April of 2017 by a conclusive  13-2 score. Will the Flyers repeat their success,  or do  the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
