Baseball Recap: Goshen Central Triumphs

Goshen Central hadn't done well against Warwick recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Gladiators narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gladiators have posted since April 6th.

Nolan Ensall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. Goshen Central is 3-1 when Ensall allows three or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Goshen Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Scheurer, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Goshen Central now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Warwick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
