Baseball Recap: Macomb Extends Winning Streak to Three

Macomb entered their tilt with Monmouth-Roseville on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 10-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bombers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Blaine Eddington tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Emmett Beck was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Macomb's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Drew Watson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Macomb kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Macomb's record now sits at 9-13. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Macomb has already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Illini West on the 1st. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against Mercer County on the 1st.
