Basketball Recap: Thunderbird Adventist Academy Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Thunderbird Adventist Academy walked away with it. They strolled past the Roosevelt Preparatory Academy Aces with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-40. Given Thunderbird Adventist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Roosevelt Preparatory Academy is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy had a senior duo take command as Gideon Orellana went 9 for 17 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and four steals and Aziel Perez went 5 of 10 to rack up 11 points along with five assists and five steals. Perez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gedeon Habimana, who posted ten points and six rebounds.
