Basketball Game Preview: West Marion Trojans vs. Sumrall Bobcats + How To Watch

The West Marion Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Sumrall Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Marion's defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so Sumrall's offense will have their work cut out for them.

West Marion will head out to face Sumrall after giving up their first home loss of the season on Thursday. The Trojans took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Neliyaha Smith, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Precious Conerly, who posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Sumrall ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Lamar Christian with a 60-56 victory. The Bobcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

West Marion better keep an eye on Ella Robertson. She was instrumental in Sumrall's win, putting up 31 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The contest was Robertson's 15th in a row with at least 15 points. Mary Bass also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Sumrall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Sumrall, their record is now 2-4.

West Marion came up short against Sumrall in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 49-43. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
