Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Surrattsville Hornets by a score of 74-61. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 67-65 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yusuf Aulakh, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Those 16 points gave Aulakh a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amir Morton, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Surrattsville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

When Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North and Surrattsville next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North will challenge Crossland and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Surrattsville will try to stop Digital Pioneers Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
