Volleyball Recap: Onaga Beats Washington County for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Onaga had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Washington County Tigers. For the Buffaloes, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Onaga who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-23.

Onaga found their leader in sophomore Avery Boswell, who had 14 digs and two aces. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Boswell.

Onaga was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington County only served seven aces.

Onaga's record now sits at 8-2. As for Washington County, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Onaga didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Valley Falls on the 13th. As for Washington County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Frankfort on the 13th.
