Baseball Recap: Dora Victorious

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Dora came out on top against Belgreen by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for Dora.

Joey Mcavoy made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mcavoy was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025.

Mcavoy wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Thompson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Thompson has posted since back in March of 2025. Ashton Davis was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Dora's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dora will host Hayden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Belgreen, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on East Lawrence at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
