Basketball Game Preview: Omaha Eagles vs. Jasper Pirates

The Omaha Eagles will head out to square off against the Jasper Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Omaha has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 15.

Omaha is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lead Hill on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Omaha had to suffer through a 83-45 loss at the hands of Lead Hill. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-22.

Meanwhile, Jasper was able to grind out a solid win over Lead Hill on Thursday, taking the game 65-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Omaha's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Jasper, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Omaha was dealt a bruising 75-40 loss at the hands of Jasper in their previous matchup on January 7th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Omaha was down 45-18.
