Basketball Recap: New Bern Christian Academy Snaps 17-Game Streak of Wins at Home

New Bern Christian Academy entered their matchup against Community Christian on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. New Bern Christian Academy fell 72-64 to the Community Christian Cyclones. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), New Bern Christian Academy still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, New Bern Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from KC Peter, who went 10 of 19 on his way to 32 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That's the most steals Peter has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Coghill, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points and six assists.

Community Christian was led to victory by Jack Beamon and Evan Gattis. Beamon dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds, while Gattis went 8 of 14 on his way to 27 points and five assists. With that strong performance, Beamon is now averaging an impressive 8.6 boards per game. Cameron Harris was another key player, putting up 12 points.

New Bern Christian Academy's loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 20-4. As for Community Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

New Bern Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 53-34 victory against Gramercy Christian on the 28th. As for Community Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-53 win against Trinity Christian on the 28th.
