Basketball Recap: Quincy Kegel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Alta over St. Monica

On Thursday, the Alta Hawks were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-45 to the St. Monica Mariners.

Alta lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Quincy Kegel, who posted 14 points. Alia Baldassano was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Alta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for St. Monica, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Alta and Castle View will face off at 1:20 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for St. Monica, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hart at 1:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
