Softball Recap: Bethesda Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Bethesda Christian proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Crawfordsville Athenians 2-1.

Annah Heath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Bethesda Christian secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Avery Gibbs, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bethesda Christian pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Bethesda Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Covenant Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Crawfordsville, they will take on Southmont at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mounties will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Athenians surely won't give up without a fight.
