Softball Recap: Jordan Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Jordan had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the East Chapel Hill Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-7 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Kylie Specht, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sidney Sharp, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Jordan pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for East Chapel Hill, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jordan will square off against Riverside-Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Chapel Hill, they will challenge Carrboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
