Lawrence Academy took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against St. Mark, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans skirted past the Lions 4-2. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 8-0 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Sam Campbell looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lawrence Academy's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daven Allard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Charlie Beauregard was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Lawrence Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for St. Mark's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lawrence Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Brooks at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, St. Mark's will face off against rival Belmont Hill at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
