Volleyball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne lost against Cedar Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blue Devils fell 2-0 to the Trojans.

While Wayne had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19.

Alexis Legler paced Wayne's offense, picking up five kills. Legler got some help from Mallory Redden and her 16 assists. Redden was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wayne has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Cedar Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Wayne will welcome Madison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cedar Catholic, they will take on Battle Creek on Tuesday.
