Volleyball Recap: Providence Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Christian Academy was the 3-1 winner over Athens Academy when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Storm fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

Micah Davis paced Providence Christian Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Davis got some help from Sydney Cook and her 20 assists. Cook also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Tyler Clements, each putting up three.

Athens Academy can attribute much of their success to Riley Harding, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Harding has posted over her last eight matchups. Riley Muir also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Providence Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 35-10. As for Athens Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-12 record this season.

Providence Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Athens Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Prince Avenue Christian on the 6th.
