Soccer Game Preview: Stevens vs. Sotomayor

The Stevens Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Stevens fell victim to Warren and their airtight defense on Monday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 586th, while the Warriors are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Sotomayor brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Holmes on Monday. It was an even better day for Kennedy Almeida as he scored three goals for his team.

Sotomayor's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Stevens, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Stevens took their victory against Sotomayor when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stevens since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
