Softball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Dayton Greendevils, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greendevils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-5 back in April.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Dayton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-14 record this season.

Newport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dayton, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Highlands on the 18th.
