Basketball Recap: Pendleton Heights Starts off Right with Win over Anderson

Pendleton Heights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 58-50 win over the Anderson Indians on Tuesday. This was payback for the Arabians, who suffered a 70-52 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pendleton Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Sims, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 15 points and four steals. Sims' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ashaan Singh, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Anderson's loss came despite strong showings from Don Bowling and Raymond Bowling. Don almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Raymond posted 14 points and three steals. Don is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Colin Lewis was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pendleton Heights has already played their next game, a 68-46 victory against Wapahani on the 29th. As for Anderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-59 win against Liberty Christian on the 29th.
