Baseball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 19th.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Erie-Prophetstown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season.

Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Erie-Prophetstown, they will square off against Newman Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
