Basketball Recap: Lexington Minutemen vs. Adams Central Patriots
Lexington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Adams Central Patriots, falling 68-46. While losing is never fun, the Minutemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Patriots are ranked 40th).
Adams Central found their leader in sophomore Kowen Rader, who posted 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rader has scored all season. Riley Propp was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Adams Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Coming up, Lexington will head out to face off against Alliance at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Adams Central, they will square off against Ashland-Greenwood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Adams Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Ashland-Greenwood likes a good challenge.
