Baseball Recap: Vandercook Lake Jayhawks vs. Morenci Bulldogs
Vandercook Lake extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 10-3 to the Morenci Bulldogs. If the Jayhawks were looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Todd Atkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Christian Lee also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Morenci, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vandercook Lake will welcome East Jackson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
