York has gone 8-1 against Poland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

York is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Greely, who was ranked first at the time (York was ranked 20th). The Wildcats came up short against the Rangers on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robbie Hanscom, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Poland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lewiston.

Poland's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for York, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

York took their victory against Poland when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
