Baseball Game Preview: Central Eagles vs. Lewisville Lions

The Central Eagles will challenge the Lewisville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Central came up short against McBee and fell 10-6. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Aidan Welch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Lewisville entered their tilt with C.A. Johnson on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 5-1.

Lewisville's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Central might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Lewisville in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
