After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Simpson finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Cedar Creek Cougars, falling 15-0. The Broncos' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Simpson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Cedar Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8-1 record this season.

Simpson will square off against Negreet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.78 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cedar Creek, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-0 victory against Downsville on the 28th.
