Football Game Preview: Windthorst Trojans vs. Lindsay Knights

The Windthorst Trojans will take on the Lindsay Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Windthorst is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clarendon 55-14. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Broncos are ranked 1016th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brock Belcher had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 308 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 107 yards and one score on only seven carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass. Aiden Stark was in the mix as well, providing Windthorst with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Windthorst was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarendon only rushed for 107.

Meanwhile, Lindsay won against Era two weeks ago with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Knights blew past Hamlin 56-13. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won four games in a row.

Windthorst's record now sits at 9-2. As for Lindsay, their record is now an identical 9-2.

Windthorst came out on top in a nail-biter against Lindsay in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, sneaking past 30-27. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
