Recap: Animas Panthers vs. Hozho Academy Wolves
On Saturday, Animas was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to Hozho Academy.
Despite the loss, Animas still got an impressive performance from Diego Renteria, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. That was a full 34.1% of Animas' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kohan Evans was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Animas has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Hozho Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Animas will take on Lordsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lordsburg is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Hozho Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tse' Yi' Gai at 6:30 p.m. Tse' Yi' Gai is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
