Baseball Recap: Lake Howell Find Success

Lake Howell's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the University Cougars by a score of 10-5. The win continues a trend for the Silverhawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Diego Miranda, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Lake Howell is 3-1 when Miranda posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Wesley Gierke, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lake Howell now has a winning record of 10-9. As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Lake Howell will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Winter Springs at 6:00 p.m. Winter Springs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lake Howell surely won't give up without a fight. As for University, they will square off against Apopka at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
