 Wyoming Valley West was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They fell  10-7 to the Dallas Mountaineers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wyoming Valley West of the  7-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
  Mason Matello was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Daniel Escalante and  Tyler Ruddy did some serious damage despite the final result:  Escalante  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3, while  Ruddy  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cole Hospodar, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 On Dallas' side,  Dominick Zangardi made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Zangardi was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dylan Geskey, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.  Zach Paczewski was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 Wyoming Valley West's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Dallas, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
 Wyoming Valley West will head out on the road to  take on  Selinsgrove at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Selinsgrove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5  runs per game  this season. As for Dallas, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Pittston at 4:15  p.m.
