Basketball Recap: Morrison Comes Up Short

Morrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Orion Chargers at home by a 74-59 margin. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Chargers are ranked 130th).

It was another big night for Kyler Owens, who went 15 for 28 on his way to 35 points and seven steals for Orion. The contest was Owens' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan DeBaillie, who posted 12 points.

Morrison's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Orion, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Morrison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-51 victory against Mercer County on the 18th. As for Orion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-31 win against Erie-Prophetstown on the 18th.
