Basketball Recap: Antelope Triumphs

San Pasqual Valley came into Monday's game looking for another win against Antelope, but Abraham Moreno wouldn't allow it. The Antelope Rams rang in the new year with a 56-49 victory over the San Pasqual Valley Warriors on Monday thanks in part to Moreno, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Chris Perez, who posted eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and seven steals. He has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played.

San Pasqual Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Lopez, who had 19 points.

The win got Antelope back to even at 5-5. As for San Pasqual Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Antelope wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-53 loss against Anthem Prep on the 9th. As for San Pasqual Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-32 defeat against Salome on the 8th.
