Ron Brown is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of New Hope Academy Regional. The Monarchs came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 55-45. The victory was just business as usual for the Monarchs, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ron Brown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrick Harley, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five steals. That's the most steals Harley has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Arrington Smith, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 17 points and six boards.

Ron Brown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why New Hope Academy Regional lost, don't look at Javen Jones. Despite the final result, he earned eight points. Jermaine 'Diesel' Myers was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Ron Brown's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for New Hope Academy Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Ron Brown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-62 loss against Dunbar on the 10th. As for New Hope Academy Regional, they will challenge Gainesville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
