Soccer Recap: Goldsboro Takes a Loss

Goldsboro lost against North Johnston back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Goldsboro fell 3-1 to North Johnston. While losing is never fun, Goldsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 385th, while North Johnston are ranked 181st).

Goldsboro has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-7-2 record this season. The victory was the seventh in a row for North Johnston, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldsboro will venture away from home to face off against Spring Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Goldsboro is facing Spring Creek at the right time seeing as Spring Creek is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for North Johnston, they will head out to take on Eastern Wayne at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Johnston's defense better be ready for this one: Eastern Wayne has averaged an impressive 3.4 goals per game this season.
