Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Has No Trouble Against Brackett

Three Rivers was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Brackett on Tuesday. The Three Rivers Bulldogs blew past the Brackett Tigers 18-9. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Jayse Alvarado was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off 11 hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Grant Dragon was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Sells, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Three Rivers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Three Rivers back to even at 5-5. As for Brackett, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Three Rivers will take on Charlotte at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brackett, they will face off against Falls City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Falls City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
