The Northwest Classen Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Muskogee Roughers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Muskogee took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwest Classen, who comes in off a win.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Northwest Classen and Del City, and Northwest Classen kept the tradition alive. The Knights put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-3 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jayden Mayfield made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Northwest Classen got a massive performance out of Zachary Mockelman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Mockelman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jovanny Charqueno, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Northwest Classen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del City only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Muskogee fell victim to Collinsville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 6-0. The Roughers haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Northwest Classen is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Muskogee, their loss dropped their record down to 11-20.
