Softball Recap: Coolidge Comes Up Short

Coolidge lost to Abbott on Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Panthers, falling 31-8.

Maleah Garcia was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Haylie Brooks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Coolidge's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Abbott, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Coolidge will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Covington at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Abbott, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mart at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Abbott's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mart has averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
