Basketball Recap: Ludlow Comes Up Short

After soaring to 73 points the game before, Ludlow was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 69-28 defeat at the hands of the Newport Wildcats. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newport to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Turner, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Griffin Starks was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 10 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Ludlow's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Newport, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Ludlow will square off against Villa Madonna at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Newport has already played their next matchup (against Beechwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
