Volleyball Recap: Marburn Academy Starts Season with Win Against Foxfire

Marburn Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Foxfire Phoenix with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Phoenix walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

While Marburn Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-9.

Foxfire's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marburn Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Ohio School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on the 11th. Meanwhile, Foxfire will square off against rival Horizon Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
