Basketball Game Preview: North Central Knights vs. Chesterfield Golden Rams

The North Central Knights will square off against the Chesterfield Golden Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses dating back to last season for North Central and six for Chesterfield.

North Central is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Andrew Jackson on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Central came up short against Andrew Jackson, falling 61-38. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Volunteers are ranked 57th).

Meanwhile, Chesterfield came up short against Cheraw on Tuesday and fell 51-43.

Chesterfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

North Central strolled past Chesterfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 69-51. Does North Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chesterfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
