After losing to Salida the last time they met, St. Mary decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The St. Mary's Pirates slipped by the Salida Spartans 77-76 on Saturday.

St. Mary's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bret Stewart, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Jeremiah Starr was another key player, going 7-for-12 en route to 19 points.
