Baseball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Takes a Loss

Sunrise Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles, falling 23-3. If the Miners were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in March of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sunrise Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Arreola, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Sunrise Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Looking ahead, Sunrise Mountain will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:30 p.m. The Miners are facing the Bulls at the right time seeing as the Bulls are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Cougars have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
